Film poster analysis

-How does your poster persuade the audience to watch the film?
My poster persuader's the audience to watch my film because it is about cheerleading and young girls in school would think the use of cheerleading is really cool and also creative also young children do not really look at the title or the use of writing they mainly look at the use of colour and images and this could attract there attention a lot more then the writing on the film poster this could persuade them to watch the film.

-How has the genre been made clear for the audience?
The genre has been made clear for my audience to recognize was the use of colour which was pink and grey at first this showed different sides to the film but my final film poster with the background of the field and the cheerleaders made it more easier to know what the film was about and also made it easier to know the film is for young girl also the use of the title 'CHEER POP' this gave an idea to the audience that it is a chick flick film and is aimed for young girls/teenagers.

-What techniques have been used to show it is a film poster?
The techniques I had used that made my poster a film poster where : I had used was a title this is because my target audience would need to know what the film would be about and you can get an idea of what the film would be about.
I had also used a tag line to give a hint, sort of like a sneak peak of what the film could be about.
Also what makes my film poster, a film poster is the age rating this is because this shows the audience that the film is suitable for them to watch and also there parents can see that its suitable for there children to watch, I had also used credits this would include directors names and also who the music was by but this tends to be quite small but it is quite important.

-What did you do to make poster look professional/stand out?
What I did to make my film poster look professional was using photo shop. What photo shop did was it helped me cut/rub out the unnecessary parts that was not needed on the film poster also when making my background grey and pink I had used a tool witch smudged the to colours in the middle this was so that there was not a solid line in the middle of my film poster of the two colours.
What made my film poster stand out was the protagonist this is because she was the larger image on my film poster and also what I think stood out on my poster was the use of the colour in the background this was because the pink was quite bright but it was not to bright that it took away and over took the other things on my film poster how ever the use of my other background of the cheerleaders on the field was also quite bright because of the use of orange.

  1. Melicia, you are clearly working towards distinction standard for this part of the evaluation. However it is not complete. See me if you are unsure how to answer question 3.
