Poster Analysis

MEDIALEVEL 2
The use of text shown for the title is the largest font from the rest of the writing on the film poster.
The genre of this movie must be around age 15, I know this because just under the title it says ‘ A comedy of sexual disorientation’ under the age of 15 children movies does not contain anything sexual.
The protagonist of the film posters  is in front of the film poster; I know this is the main character because she is much larger than the stock characters, the stock characters are in the back ground dressed in cheer uniform  they are on the film poster as well as the protagonist but are not the main characters.
Girls would find this poster more appealing. Looking at the film poster the main colours are pink, red and blue, this are colours most girls like and also the main character is in a bright pink. This is to attract young females into watching this movie also the title mentions ‘CHEERLEADER’ mostly girls would find cheerleading more interesting then boys would.
The use of the colour pink is to appeal young females, because it is one o the main colours a girl likes, also the main character and the other people in the film poster are girls, this can also appeal to young females as well this is because they would know that the film is aimed at them to watch.
The typography shown is plain green and bold, this is to make it eye catching for the target audience (young girls) also the word cheerleader is the main word in a big bold  and also the  words ‘But I’m a’ is much more smaller the word ‘cheerleader’.

  1. Melicia, in all three instances you have carried out a detailed analysis that is to near distinction standard. You have shown that you are able to discuss the way meaning is put across, whilst making reference to relevant terminology and examples. To improve you would need to identify the target audience for each poster in relation to age, gender, ethinicity and interests and explain in more detail how they have been targeted. You would also need to explain in more detail how it has been made clear this is a film poster.
