Poster Analysis

MEAN GIRLS
The title on the film poster is really bold as well as the realise date also the use of the colour is mostly all pink this could be at attract young females. Also the way the girls are whispering in to one of the girls ears could show  could be gossip and could be conflict between the girls this is because the girl on the left is a bit separated as in the others are closer together.
Also the girl on the left looks more serious then the other girls as the girl next to her is smiling and the other girl on the right looks like she has a lot to say to the girl in the red.

The genre of this movie would be around 12  this is because the use of girl and the way the girls are sitting it doesn’t look like there would be any type of fighting or any violence with in them they  look sort of calm and also leaning on each other.
The use of the grey in the background is a dark grey and a light grey, the dark grey is mostly on the girl on the left and the lighter grey is on the girl on the right this could show there could be a problem with the girl on the left.
The to girls  in the middle could be the main characters of the movie also the on in red could be more important then the other girl in the middle.
The film poster clearly shows it is aimed for young girls this is because the  people on the film poster are all girls. Also the clothes they are wearing is mostly pink this would attract young girls.
The genre of this film could be a drama movie this is because of the way the girls expressions are also there body language (the way they are sitting close together) and also the use of the word ‘MEAN’ in the title shows the girls are not really going to be nice girls, maybe not nice as friends or there not nice to other people.

The tag line is not quite bold but does stand out  on the film poster, also the way they are written is quite funky and also the tagline ‘Watch your back’ this can also show the girls are not very  nice  as in person ,because when someone tells you to watch  your back this means they don’t like you and this could have something  to do with arguments and maybe fights.

The typography shown to be plain and bold this makes it eye catching for the target audience also the colour is used to be noticeable.

BRING IT ON

The title show on this film poster is very bold from the rest of the other text Also the title in is a red bold colour the colour red represents blood and could also represents danger this could mean in the film there could be a bit of conflict between the cheerleaders, also the way there are to different cheerleading squads  so this could mean this film would have to do with two different types of cheerleaders.

The genre of this movie  would be PG this not only because it says on the film poster but it doesn’t look like it would be violent or anything to do with killing in this movie.  They look happy because of there body language, they look like they are dancing and also they look like they are singing or cheering also the people behind the people in front look very serious in what they are doing.  The Protagonist of this film poster are the two girls in the front this could show they are the main characters of the movie.

This film poster clearly shows this film is aimed for young girls this is because the people on the film poster are all girls. Also the colour of there uniforms have red in them this is one of the colours that could attract young girls ( the use of red is more appealing).
The genre of this film could be a drama this is because of the facial expressions on the actors faces.

The tagline is partly bold this is making it eye catching for the target audience and also gives them an idea of what to expect to see in the film.
The layout of the film poster is the title of the poster is Big red and bold at the top with the characters and protagonist in front. The narrative looks to be set in a high school / college as it is to be set for young girls and teenagers.

The typography is shown to be plain and bold this makes it eye catching for the target audience also the colour that is used are made to be noticeable.

Poster Analysis

MEDIALEVEL 2
The use of text shown for the title is the largest font from the rest of the writing on the film poster.
The genre of this movie must be around age 15, I know this because just under the title it says ‘ A comedy of sexual disorientation’ under the age of 15 children movies does not contain anything sexual.
The protagonist of the film posters  is in front of the film poster; I know this is the main character because she is much larger than the stock characters, the stock characters are in the back ground dressed in cheer uniform  they are on the film poster as well as the protagonist but are not the main characters.
Girls would find this poster more appealing. Looking at the film poster the main colours are pink, red and blue, this are colours most girls like and also the main character is in a bright pink. This is to attract young females into watching this movie also the title mentions ‘CHEERLEADER’ mostly girls would find cheerleading more interesting then boys would.
The use of the colour pink is to appeal young females, because it is one o the main colours a girl likes, also the main character and the other people in the film poster are girls, this can also appeal to young females as well this is because they would know that the film is aimed at them to watch.
The typography shown is plain green and bold, this is to make it eye catching for the target audience (young girls) also the word cheerleader is the main word in a big bold  and also the  words ‘But I’m a’ is much more smaller the word ‘cheerleader’.

Audience Research

What i found out about my questionnaire was that male and female both answer  the questionnaire but on the other hand more men filled out the questionnaire then the woman, five men filled out the questionnaire where as four woman filled out the questionnaire.
Most people that filled out my questionnaire were around the age of 16-20.
A few amount of people watched movies once a  week however few more people watch movies more.
Also what i found out was most people enjoy watching acton films rather then romance or thriller , but however a lot more chose other, so they could like much more film genre's that was given on my questionnaire. The occupation was mostly students that filled out my questionnaire where as only one person was employed. There was many people that would notice on a film poster such as: image, title, realise date etc. but most people had written what they notice on a film poster is the image and main characters.

Also people did expect many different things on a film poster such as: colour, rating, actors names, credits and images etc. The most popular one people had said was images and also the rating of the movie, this is maybe because of the use of colour being shown and also for the rating people would want to see if it is more suitable for them to watch.
